Employers could face legal action if they fail to adequately support workers experiencing menopause symptoms
New guidance from the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) has set out employers’ legal obligations regarding menopause in the workplace.
According to research from women’s rights charity The Fawcett Society, one in 10 women who worked during the menopause have left their job due to their symptoms.
If menopause symptoms have a long-term and substantial impact on an employee’s ability to carry out normal day-to-day activities, they may be considered a disability.
