A fourth giant boring machine (TBM) has arrived at the site of HS2’s Northolt Tunnel.
The 8.4-mile tunnel from Victoria Road in Ealing to West Ruislip in Hillingdon is being constructed by four huge TBMs – of which Lady Anne Byron is the latest addition.
TBM Lady Anne will bore 3.4 miles from Victoria Road in Ealing, near HS2’s Old Oak Common station, to Greenpark Way in Greenford, alongside TBM Emily which launched last month in February.
Lady Anne was manufactured by TBM experts Herrenknecht in Germany, which will work with HS2’s London tunnels contractor, Skanska Costain STRABAG JV.
