Willmott Dixon rolls out safety tech for MEWPs
Willmott Dixon is using new harness-based technology on its construction projects to enhance safety for workers using a boom-type MEWP.
A free online webinar from the International Powered Access Federation (IPAF) on Thursday (21 July) will set out the benefits to contractors of selecting a MEWP hire company accredited to the IPAF Rental+ quality assurance standard.
Under Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998 (LOLER) regulations, a mobile elevating work platform (MEWP) should undergo a ‘thorough examination’ at least every six months to ensure that equipment is not faulty and doesn’t pose a risk to staff.
