Sir Robert McAlpine has joined Circularity in Practice as a signatory, marking its commitment to the nationwide sustainability initiative.
Inspired by King Charles’ vision for environmental stewardship, the initiative aims to turn ambitions around designing out waste, reuse, high-quality recycling and remanufacturing into tangible action.
Sir Robert McAlpine is among the organisations initially leading the Circularity in Practice Taskforce, demonstrating practical adoption and playing an educational role to accelerate the uptake of circular solutions across the UK.

Circularity in Practiceis a voluntary initiative that brings together businesses across sectors to showcase proven best practice, rather than developing new policy or fostering early-stage innovation.
As well as Sir Robert McAlpine, other signatories to the initiative are: JLL, Orms, McGee, Great Portland Estates, Tata Steel UK, EMR, Rype Office, SUEZ, Therme, Pineapple Partnerships, SAS International, Saint-Gobain, Recolight, 18 Degrees, Alandale Group, Don’t Waste Buildings, Excess Materials Exchange, the British Chambers of Commerce, and various regional SMEs.
Simon Richards, sustainability director at Sir Robert McAlpine, said: “We are proud to be a founding signatory of the Circularity in Practice Taskforce. Across the UK, businesses are increasingly committed to doing the right thing for a more sustainable future, and circularity is central to that ambition.
“We look forward to applying the lessons learned from delivering circular approaches on major projects to help shape best practice and accelerate proven solutions in the places where we live and work.”
