New timelapse footage shows demolition contractor Demex demolishing the Guardian Centre buildings of the Rotherham Markets.
Demex, appointed by main contractor Henry Boot Construction, also dismantled the iconic tensile fabric tent and its supporting metal structure.
The next stage of the project will involve installing the steel frame for the new outdoor covered market and library.
The works are part of a major £36m refurbishment of Rotherham Markets, part of Rotherham Council’s wider town centre masterplan to make it a new cultural and social focal point for the town.
Completion is expected in 2027.
