The Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) has revealed the winners of this year’s SkillBuild National Final.
The 80 participants went head-to-head over three days, with winners crowned across each of the 10 construction trade categories.
The regional qualifiers were held at various colleges across the UK earlier this year and consisted of more than 1,000 students competing for awards.
The final involved the competitors constructing a project within 18 hours. A panel of judges assessed them on several characteristics: technical ability, time management, problem solving, working under pressure, and compliance with health and safety requirements.
Robert Smith, product manager (careers) at CITB, said: “SkillBuild is always a highlight for me, and this year was no exception – it was fantastic.
“Skills development in construction has never been more critical, and SkillBuild provides a unique platform to transform personal interests into professional careers.
“Events like SkillBuild are a brilliant showcase of what a career in construction can offer, highlighting the variety of roles available, and [demonstrating] the real-world skills that lead to rewarding, long-term careers in the industry.
“Over the past few days, it’s been a privilege to meet exceptional talent and gain insight into their commitment to their chosen trades.
“Congratulations to all the winners and participants at the SkillBuild National Final 2025. All those involved should be extremely proud of what they have accomplished.”
