A 70-year-old man working on a Cheshire construction site has died after an accident involving a digger.
The incident took place on a Taylor Wimpey site off Stoneley Avenue in Crewe just after 830am yesterday.
The man was taken to Leighton Hospital but later died.
A spokeswoman for Cheshire Police said the force’s officers were investigating at the scene, along with the Health and Safety executive.
Taylor Wimpey chief executive, Pete Redfern, said: “It is with deep regret that we confirm that a sub-contractor at our Stoneley Park site in Crewe passed away this morning following a serious accident on site.
