Ferrovial’s smart formwork

Ferrovial has developed a smart formwork system that provides pressure and temperature information in real-time using sensors to optimise work cycles and achieve greater safety when concreting. The system was validated on the Thames Tideway Tunnel project (image above).

BE-ST launches carbon calculator

A free-to-download carbon calculator has been launched by Built Environment - Smarter Transformation (formerly the Construction Scotland Innovation Centre). The carbon calculator can be used by anyone wanting to estimate the total carbon footprint saved when introducing new products or processes at their organisation. The tool links to databases for both operational and embodied carbon.

BIM4Water’s new chair

MWH Treatment national rehearsal lead Clare Taylor-Kovacs has succeeded Jamie Mills, global BIM manager at Xylem, as chair of the BIM4Water group.
