Three people are being treated at the Royal Berkshire Hospital after a major scaffold collapse in Reading.
The structure was on the site of the former Friars Walk Shopping Centre which contractor McGee is demolishing to make way for a new mixed-use development.
Witnesses reported seeing a cloud of dust rising shortly before the scaffold came down onto Garrard Street in Reading town centre.

A McGee spokesperson said: “We can confirm there has been an incident today at one of our sites in Reading. “We are investigating and will provide further updates when facts are available.”
One of the injured is believed to have been a worker on the site. Two others were passers-by hit by falling debris.
The Health & Safety Executive is investigating.
