Midlands building consultancy and CIOB chartered company The Construction Consultants (TCC) has strengthened its health and safety offering with the appointment of an associate director with more than 25 years’ experience.

Richard Hardwick MCIOB joins the Birmingham-based consultancy from Tetra Tech Europe, where he was also an associate director.

He has previously held senior health and safety positions at Faithful+Gould and the WT Parker Group, and has worked on complex construction projects across a range of sectors.

TCC co-founder and director Alex Pimley said Hardwick’s experience would add to the consultancy’s health and safety capability.

“[Richard] is able to provide practical and cost-effective advice on a range of health and safety issues,” Pimley said. “He is also able to deliver clear and pragmatic advice that supports compliance, reduces risk and promotes a safety ethos.”

Hardwick said he was looking forward to contributing to TCC’s projects and the opportunities presented by his new role.

The appointment forms part of a wider expansion of TCC’s team, with three further recruits joining the consultancy.

Sirius Lee has been appointed as project manager, joining from SOGO in Hong Kong, where he held the same position. He was previously an associate director at Aegis Solutions in Hong Kong and holds an MSc from the University of Hong Kong.

Ayushi Singh has joined as a graduate project manager.
