A 10-storey scaffold collapsed in high winds on Tuesday (14 January) as large parts of the UK were battered by high winds.
The scaffold damaged cars and roads had to be closed after it was ripped from a tower block on Chelsfield Lane in Orpington, Kent. It had reportedly been erected to repair balconies on the block but fell down after the bricks it was tied to came loose.
The Metropolitan Police closed Chelsfield Lane and nearby Skittle Hill Lane until the debris was cleared away. There were no reported injuries.
