Offsite manufacturing specialist Premier Modular has been awarded a contract to deliver new security buildings across three UK airports.
The multi-million-pound contract is part of a major investment programme across Manchester Airport Group’s estate.
Premier Modular will support BAM with the design and fit-out of new facilities to upgrade the existing infrastructure at Manchester, London Stansted and East Midlands airports.
Premier Modular has designed a bespoke building blueprint that can be repeated at each site, delivering 42 modules across the three airports.
Work has already begun at Manchester and London Stansted, with East Midlands due to commence later this month.
David Harris, managing director at Premier Modular, said: “These projects are a prime example of modular’s role in supporting critical infrastructure, especially in high security settings.
“With construction happening at our manufacturing facility, we are able to reduce disruption, keeping our time on site to a minimum and assembling in a matter of weeks, ensuring timeframes are met.”
John McCarthy, construction manager at BAM, added: “When it came to finding a solution for the new security facilities, we knew that modular construction was the right solution for this project.
“Working together, we have developed a design that we can quickly and easily install across the [Manchester Airport Group] sites with minimal disruption to everyday operations.”
