Mace has hailed Tottenham Hotspur’s new stadium as “one of the best sporting arenas in the world” after it opened for test events at the weekend to acclaim from fans.
The £800m stadium, which was originally due to host its first match in September last year but was delayed after Mace announced that testing had uncovered “issues with the critical safety systems”, hosted a test event on 24 March between the clubs U18 side and Southampton.
Another test event is now due to take place on 30 March, before the senior side takes on Crystal Palace for their opening match on 3 April, provided the stadium successfully obtains a formal safety certificate.
A spokesman for Mace said: “We are extremely proud to be part of a team that has delivered such a fantastic new home for Tottenham Hotspur and its fans, which we believe is one of the best sporting arenas in the world.”
