Nottingham Forest has submitted an application for the redevelopment of the Peter Taylor Stand, at its City Ground.
If approved, the scheme will involve the construction of a new 10,000-capacity, three-tier stand, with work set to start in the summer of 2020.
In addition to the new stand, owner Evangelos Marinakis plans to refresh the Trent End, Brian Clough and Bridgford stands over the next few years as well as building new conference and media facilities as part of an investment thought to be worth around £100m.
Tom Cartledge, chief executive of architecture firm Benoy, which has helped to work up the plans, said: "We are delighted that the many months of work with the club and its experienced consultant team saw the submission of the detailed planning application, a major milestone in our journey to improve The City Ground.
"We will continue to work with the local planning team at Rushcliffe [Borough Council] and other key stakeholders towards the application being heard at committee in the first quarter of 2020.
"The Peter Taylor Stand is of course the first phase of the work we expect to see at the City Ground and this first phase will kick start an exciting period of overall improvement for the club.”
