Ilke Homes is to build 40 modular homes on brownfield land owned by Network Rail, next to Beeston station in Nottinghamshire.
The deal is Network Rail’s first in modular housing and is part of its strategy to release under-utilised land for development, with profits reinvested in the rail network.
The new homes are due to be installed in the fourth quarter of 2021.
Ilke Homes recently secured a £30m investment from Homes England to increase the capacity of its factory in Knaresborough near Harrogate, as part of a scheme to boost modern methods of construction and deliver more modular homes across the UK.
