The National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) and Women in Property have announced a collaboration to mark the upcoming UK Construction Week (UKCW).

The two groups will join forces at the event to raise awareness for the support available to women in the industry.

Between 30 September and 2 October, NAWIC and Women in Property will be at the NEC Exhibition Centre in Birmingham, where they will host a stand aimed at promoting the advancement of women in construction.

Representatives from NAWIC and Women in Property will participate in a Meet Women Who Shape Construction panel discussion and networking session at UKCW’s Culture Change and Skills Hub.

NAWIC will also host a Male Voices for Equity in Construction panel discussion in a bid to encourage more men in construction to support the cause.

Olivia Jenkins, co-chair of NAWIC Midlands, said: “The National Association of Women in Construction has become something of a feature at UK Construction Week in recent years.

“We are delighted to be exhibiting this year in collaboration with Women in Property; a like-minded not-for-profit organisation that – much like us – creates opportunities and inspires change for women working in the construction industry.

“Together we hope to increase awareness of the presence of women across a multitude of roles in the industry and the exciting opportunities that exist for other women and girls who aspire to join us.”
