Kier has been appointed by the City of Edinburgh Council to deliver a new secondary school built to Passivhaus standards.
Energy usage at the Currie Community High School will be reduced by 70% compared with a traditional school build. Completion is expected in early 2025.
Currie will be one of the first schools in Scotland built to the stringent energy-efficient standards. Passivhaus will also ensure better air quality, as well as advanced insulation and greater airtightness.
