ISG construction manager to run from John O’Groats to Land’s End

An ISG assistant construction manager aims to raise £500,000 for charity by running 1,400km from John O’Groats to Land’s End.

The feat of endurance, which starts from John O’Groats on 5 September, is equivalent to running two marathons a day for 18 days.

Ben Banaghan, who is assistant construction manager on ISG’s Waterloo retail project, is raising money for Join Our Boys, a trust raising awareness of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.

Banaghan said he started running and ultra-running during the covid-19 pandemic. He ran to support his own mental health and mental resilience.

His 1,400km charity run, for which he has been training for seven months, takes place at the same time as ISG’s Move for Charity initiative. Move for Charity is a virtual event where the company encourages its people and supply chain to get active. It aims to inspire them to walk, run, cycle or even dance.
