In pictures | Six of the most innovative roofing projects

The National Federation of Roofing Contractors (NFRC) has revealed the winners of the UK Roofing Awards 2020.

The selected projects ranged from major heritage schemes through to small scale domestic builds.

Roof of the Year and Heritage
Claude N Smith took both the Heritage Roofing title and won Roof of the Year for the restoration of the 130-year-old roof at Bodley’s Court at King’s College in Cambridge. Claude N Smith obtained planning permission to reopen a mine for the replacement of the Collyweston slates on the roof.
Bituminous Hot-Applied Liquid Waterproofing
BriggsAmasco won the Bituminous Hot Applied Liquid Waterproofing category for its work on a rooftop running track at Brighton College.
Fully Supported Metal
Full Metal Jacket scooped the Fully Supported Metal category for the copper dome on Ludgate House in London.
Lead Roofing
Full Metal Jacket also won in the Lead Roofing category for South Quire Tribune  at Canterbury Cathedral in Canterbury Kent.
Reinforced Bitumen Membrane
Geo. Brolly & Co (Roofing) Ltd working with DM Roofing on the Isle of Bute Discovery Centre took victory in the Reinforced Bitumen Membranes category.
Small Scale Project <£25k
Nigel Hayman Roofing working with Dreadnought Tiles won the Small Scale Project < £25,000 category for a housing project named Pangolin.
