Galliford Try buys nmcn’s water business

Galliford Try has paid nearly £1m to buy collapsed contractor nmcn’s water business, including Lintott.

Nmcn (formerly North Midland Construction) entered administration earlier this week.

As part of the deal, around 900 nmcn employees will join Galliford Try, including the senior management of nmcn Water, who will report to Steve Slessor, MD of Galliford Try’s environment business.

According to its last accounts in December 2019, the ncmn Water business generated operating profit of £7.6m on turnover of £282.6m. The gross assets of nmcn’s water segment were £70m as at 31 December 2019.
