Ferrovial Construction and Cellnex UK are joining forces to deepen implementation of 5G connectivity for the construction and transport sectors.
Cellnex uses an Open RAN approach, which allows connection of equipment from different vendors, offering flexibility. Ferrovial views Open RAN as “key” to the provision of network access for multiple user groups on construction sites.
The collaboration is between the UK divisions of two Spanish-owned companies. They say the collaboration will help future construction projects to combine the Internet of Things, augmented reality, artificial intelligence and robotics.
