The jib of a luffing jib tower crane collapsed in the early hours of Friday (12 January) at a residential project site in West London.
No injuries were reported.
“It has been reported to us that the jib of one of our luffing jib tower cranes collapsed overnight at a construction site in Acton,” Falcon said in a statement.
“The crane was not in operation at the time and there are no reports of injuries or structural damage to other property. We will be conducting a thorough investigation of all immediate and underlying causes of the collapse.”
The incident happened at a Durkan project for Network Homes to build 158 homes near Central Middlesex Hospital.
It is the second Falcon crane collapse in less than two months. On 28 November, the jib of a Jaso J380PA luffing crane collapsed onto a residential site in Edinburgh, injuring two.
