The UK arm of Belgian real estate developer Ghelamco has started the main building phase of an exclusive tower at the former Price’s Candles factory under a self-delivery model.

The in-house construction division of Ghelamco UK is building a £140m (GDV) project comprising a 24-storey residential tower on the Battersea Waterfront in southwest London.

Named the HiLight, the tower has been designed by Squire & Partners and includes 177 mixed-tenure flats, including 113 luxury apartments.

Ghelamco said that operating a self-delivery model will allow the developer to have “complete control” over the quality and construction programme and ensure efficient project management and execution.

The development will maintain three of the original Price’s Candles factory buildings.

Final build completion and first occupations are expected in the second quarter of 2026.
