Auctioneers have raised just over £5m after a sale of plant, vehicles and other assets that previously belonged to collapsed contractor Dawnus Construction.
Euro Auctions, in conjunction with valuation firm Hilco, confirmed that it had disposed of £5.35m worth of assets following a two-day auction in Port Talbot last week.
There were over 2,000 bidders from 38 countries viewing the online catalogue, with over 1,800 of those bidders, 85% of the total audience, bidding online.
Among the items sold were excavators, backhoes, site dumpers, mini diggers, bulldozers, rollers, telehandlers, buckets and attachments.
A 2015 Bomag single drum vibrating roller sold for £45,500, while a 2012 Caterpillar D9R dozer went for £130,000.
Dawnus Group entered administration in March this year, owing unsecured debts of £40.5m to other businesses, £5m to its employees, and £3m to HMRC. A secured loan of £1.5m made by the Welsh Government may be paid back, but potentially with some shortfall.
