Construction professionals from across Ireland are set to come together next month for the CIOB Ireland Construction Conference 2026, with housing, infrastructure, skills and sustainability among the issues on the agenda.
The conference, organised by the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) Republic of Ireland, will take place at the Crowne Plaza Dublin – Blanchardstown on 23 October.
Under the theme of examining what has changed in construction – and what needs to change next – the half-day event will bring together industry leaders and built environment professionals for keynote presentations, panel discussions, CPD and networking.
The opening session, ‘The Way We Build: What’s Changed and What Needs to Change?’, will be followed by a panel discussion on infrastructure and housing.
The session ‘Constructing Resilience: Infrastructure & Housing’, will explore issues including labour shortages, future housing demand, public infrastructure investment, urban development, building adaptability, leadership and diversity and inclusion.
With Ireland continuing to face pressure to deliver new homes and infrastructure while addressing skills shortages, the conference will provide an opportunity for construction professionals to discuss some of the challenges facing the sector and how the industry can respond.
The programme will also look at the future of construction technology and sustainability. A second panel, ‘Shaping Tomorrow’s Built Environment & The Future of Construction’, will examine net zero construction, sustainable materials, the circular economy and green building certifications.
The event will also feature a dedicated session on building the workforce for Irish construction’s industrialised future, alongside an address from Collen Construction.
CIOB Ireland said the conference is intended to bring together professionals from across the built environment, including construction and project managers, engineers, site managers, architects, contractors, health and safety professionals, students and graduates.
Delegates can earn up to four hours of CPD and will have opportunities to network and engage with exhibitors during the event.
The conference takes place from 9am to 1pm on 23 October, with CIOB members charged €25 and general admission priced at €35.
