CEO of the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB), Caroline Gumble, has been made a visiting professor at Loughborough University.
She is now professor of global engagement and transformation, built environment, in the School of Architecture, Building and Civil Engineering.
Gumble will work with professor Chris Gorse, who nominated her, and colleagues on strengthening international relations as well as professionalism, fairness, inclusion and respect.
Loughborough University said the appointment will deepen the well-established relationship between the two institutions, which together could make a positive impact on societal change.
The university said in a statement: “The outreach undertaken will recognise the global talent that exists and is needed to address sustainability, industry and societal challenges.
“Caroline’s passion for professionalism is already driving change, drawing on excellence from a diverse and rich international sector.
"Such engagement has strengthened a network which is having a real and meaningful impact on the industry and the lives of people around the world.”
