BSI calls for views from construction’s Covid-hit ‘hybrid generation’ 

The public call for evidence is open to individuals or groups with relevant experience on the topic. The research will cover multiple sectors but focus specifically on those working in the built environment.

The study, which is part of a series on the future of work, will look at areas including job satisfaction, mental and psychological wellbeing, frequency of job changes, earning potential, skills development and career progression.

It aims to understand what steps can be taken to ensure younger workers feel fulfilled at work and are productive in their businesses. 

Kate Field, global head of human and social sustainability at BSI, said: “As we approach five years since the pandemic fundamentally reshaped the working world, many questions abound. 

“While individual organisations must find the structure that works for them, flexibility is increasingly central to the conversation. 

“Hybrid structures are now the norm for some, but not for all and certainly not for all jobs, especially when it comes to the built environment.”
