Bristol City Council is looking for a Senior Building Safety Manager to drive resident safety

Bristol City Council has announced an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional to take on the role of Senior Building Safety Manager, based in Bristol. The full-time, permanent position plays a pivotal part in ensuring the safety of high-rise, multi-occupied residential buildings across the city.

This key role will support the council’s statutory duties around building safety, with a particular focus on compliance with evolving regulations. Applicants must bring technical expertise, experience in property compliance within housing, and strong communication skills. Ideal candidates will have previously held a Building Safety Manager role and be familiar with the challenges of social housing.

Claire Matthews, the council’s Programme Lead for Residential Building Safety, emphasised: “This role is crucial to fostering a culture of safety, transparency, and trust between the council and Bristol’s residents.”

The council offers flexible and hybrid working arrangements, membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme, and generous annual leave. The application deadline is 18 August 2025, and those interested are encouraged to apply early.
