BRE Group has appointed Gillian Charlesworth as its new chief executive.
Charlesworth is currently a member of the global executive team of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS). She will take up her new role in May 2019.
She succeeds Niall Trafford, who has served as acting chief executive of the research and consulting group since May 2018.
Trafford took over from Peter Bonfield, who spent 25 years at BRE and was chief executive for the last six of those. Bonfield moved on to become vice-chancellor and president of the University of Westminster.
Commenting on Charlesworth’s appointment, BRE Group chairman Chris Earnshaw said: "She is highly respected in her field and familiar with many of BRE’s existing clients and business activities. Her prior experience and leadership skills will be an important addition to BRE."
