Smartphone scanner from Leica
Leica Geosystems, part of Hexagon, has revealed a handheld dual time-of-flight LiDAR sensor, the BLK2GO Pulse, that allows scanning via a smartphone. The person carrying out the scanning can see the colourised 3D data on their smartphone as they are scanning. It will be released in early 2024.
XYZ appoints CTO
XYZ Reality, the developer of the award-winning engineering-grade AR headset Atom, has appointed John Haddick as chief technology officer. Prior to joining XYZ, Haddick was executive director and CTO for Lenovo’s ThinkReality XR business unit, where he built the strategy and products for the organisation’s AR & VR solutions and partnerships worldwide.
