Giles Price
Aecom has appointed Giles Price, formerly technical and quality director at British Airport Authority (BAA), as its new chief technical officer for the EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) region.
Aecom said the newly created role will focus on “enhancing technical excellence, quality and encouraging technical development” for its staff.
It added that there would be a focus on delivering excellent solutions for clients by using lean working practises to support collaboration, reduce waste, improve efficiencies, encourage balanced working and accelerating programme delivery.
During his time at BAA, price worked on the development, delivery, operation and maintenance of major critical airports infrastructure – including Heathrow’s Terminals 2 and 5 as well as the third runway project.
As part of his role with BAA, he also worked alongside the Sydney Olympics in 2000 and London 2012 Olympics to support the relevant infrastructure and transport needs.
Colin Wood, chief capability officer, Aecom, EMEA, said: “Investing in the wellbeing of our staff and ensuring their continuing professional development is key to business growth. This new role will not only allow AECOM to build a legacy across Europe, Middle East and Africa but encourage our staff to be part of it. Giles brings a breadth of experience to this new role and we are excited to have him on board.”
Price said: “Working for a global organisation such as AECOM unlocks several opportunities for people across the business. This is an exciting time to be joining and I look forward to working with the team, ensuring development is at the core of all decision making.”
