A construction worker has been killed after an accident on the Queensferry Crossing project in Scotland, which left another man injured.
Police in Scotland said the accident, on the north tower of the bridge, occurred shortly before noon.
Work has been stopped and all other workers have been moved off site following the incident. The £1.35bn construction is expected to be complete by the end of this year.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: “We are currently working alongside our partner agencies to investigate an incident on the Queensferry Crossing Bridge that resulted in a man sustaining fatal injuries.
“The call was received around 12.20pm on Thursday (28 April) and sadly, the man was pronounced dead a short time later. “Another man on the bridge also sustained minor injuries. Enquiries to establish the full circumstances surrounding this matter are ongoing.”
