Video | How Balfour is building a coastal defence in Norfolk

(Video: Aggregate Industries)

Balfour Beatty is using 70,000 tonnes of aggregate to build a £25m coastal defence along the shorelines of Cromer and Mundesley in Norfolk.

Aggregate Industries has supplied rock armour sourced from Glensanda quarry in Scotland, including a mix of large stones ranging from 3-6 tonnes, 300kg to 1 tonne and 15-30kg, to protect the vulnerable sandy cliffs from the North Sea.

The project is expected to last between 12 and 18 months.

It is being funded by the Environment Agency, North Norfolk Council, Anglian Water and Mundesley Parish Council.
