Employers across the country have been recognised by the government for their commitment to apprenticeships.

The Top 100 Apprenticeship Employers and Top 50 SME Apprenticeship Employers rankings for 2025 showcase apprenticeship programmes across various sectors, including construction and engineering.

These leading apprenticeship employers, including Balfour Beatty and Kier, have been recognised for the quality of their apprenticeship programmes, the diversity of their apprentices, and positive feedback from apprentices.

The lists have been compiled by the Department for Education, in partnership with RateMyApprenticeship.

Commenting on the rankings, education secretary Bridget Phillipson said: “Congratulations to all the employers recognised for their outstanding apprenticeship programmes. They are delivering the skilled workforce we need to deliver our number one mission to grow the economy, and breaking down barriers for young people across the country.

“For the first time, the voices of apprentices themselves were front and centre in showcasing where employers are raising the bar in quality and experience. These rankings are a testament to what can be achieved when businesses invest in people, and the transformative power of apprenticeships in delivering our Plan for Change.”

One of the construction companies featured on the top 100 employers list, building materials supplier Travis Perkins, said the recognition is testament to a deep commitment to nurturing talent.

Andy Rayner, director of skills and apprenticeships at Travis Perkins, added: “Our proud track record reflects not only the hard work of our colleagues and apprentices, but also the high-quality, impactful experiences we deliver, ultimately building a skilled and loyal workforce for a thriving industry.”
