The CIOB is asking its members to take part in a 10-minute survey to establish the cost of bidding to find out whether this has changed in 10 years. The survey builds on research conducted in 2003 with the University of Reading, which found that the construction industry was spending more than £2bn a year in bidding. It also found that in 2003 the internal cost of responding to a bid started at around £1,500 for consultants and £10,000 for contractors.
MarketingWorks’ Bid Cost Survey is expecting to discover the true cost of bidding in 2014 and how this has changed since 2003; what factors influence that cost; and which behaviours and activities now influence and/or increase the likelihood of winning.
If respondents take part and supply their email addresses, they can receive a free summary of the research findings and there is also a prize draw to win:
- First prize – A free Best Practice Behaviours & Processes to Re-energise your Win Work Team workshop to be run at your venue for up to 25 people worth £1,750 + VAT
- Second prize – A free Win Work Healthcheck worth £1,500 + VAT
