The National Grid has been fined more than £3m after its failures left a worker with life-changing injuries from working on a pylon in South Wales.

Balfour Beatty is using an automated cable installation equipment machine to deliver the second phase of the National Grid’s London Power Tunnels 2 project.

The first of 116 new T-pylons, the first new design for a pylon in Great Britain in nearly 100 years, has been built in Somerset.
