The London Fire Brigade and the Metropolitan Police are investigating the cause of a fire at the site of a Bouygues residential complex under construction in east London on Tuesday.

London Fire Brigade firefighters rescued on 16 April a man who became trapped at a construction site in South East London.

LFB is supporting proposals by the government to make it mandatory for new residential buildings above 30 metres to have a minimum of two staircases to improve building safety.
