The Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) has advertised its role for a chief construction and scientific adviser.

Grenfell Inquiry panel member and veteran architect Thouria Istephan has been appointed as the new interim chief construction adviser by the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) on 30 September.

The Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government “expects” to publicly announce the appointment of the interim chief construction adviser in September.

The government is planning to announce an interim chief construction adviser this summer ahead of a permanent appointment next year.

Former UK chief construction adviser Paul Morrell says the number of candidates fit for the new role recommended by the Grenfell Inquiry is “very limited”.
