How do you stop non-specified or non-compliant products and materials being installed on site? Product and waste tracking platform Qflow aims to stop them as they arrive on site.
The firm has developed an alert system, known as Advanced Alerts, that delivers live notifications to construction teams, via app and email, that flag any risks linked to incoming products and materials, based on site-specific rules.
Alerts are triggered when delivery slips are scanned into the Qflow system at the site gate. The system digitises and structures the data, and the alert audits the information and sends out a notification if it doesn’t meet the project’s bespoke requirements.
Qflow claims this is an industry-first, enabling users to intervene before faulty, substandard, or incorrect materials are installed.
Jade Cohen, Co-founder at Qflow, says: “On site, it is natural that substituted materials, unapproved suppliers, or incorrect fuel use, can go unidentified and, often, these issues aren’t picked up until it’s too late.
“With Qflow Advanced Alerts, our goal is simple: to help teams stay ahead of these risks, protecting project timelines, budgets, and ultimately, the safety of both construction teams and future building users. This advancement is all about giving project teams the tools they need to act sooner, using automated notifications that ensure the materials delivered to site meet the intended quality, compliance, and design standards from the outset.”
Advanced Alerts are available in Beta to existing Qflow customers for free until the end of October.
Earlier this year, Qflow revealed that only a third of construction materials records are accurate enough to support embodied carbon calculations, leaving most emissions reporting across the sector incomplete or unreliable.
