Select Plant Hire’s powered access division is investing in nine fully electric and hybrid articulating boom lifts.

Select was the first UK firm to purchase Skyjack‘s all-electric machines, with the 45ft and 60ft booms recently added to its fleet following extensive trials.

The Skyjack SJ45/60 AJE+ machines produce zero emissions, and offer an operational carbon saving of 42% compared with previous models.

Tom Barrow, product leader at Select, said: “At Select, we are driving the shift towards more sustainable construction and are constantly looking for ways to improve the environmental impact of our fleet, including introducing electric and hybrid plant where possible.

“The positive trial feedback from both operators and customers cemented our decision to renew the Select powered access fleet with the Skyjack electric machines.”

Dean Marks, European sales manager at Skyjack, added: “Select Plant Hire’s investment in our latest range of electric and hybrid booms is a clear testament to the industry’s shift toward sustainable solutions, and at Skyjack we are committed to delivering equipment that aligns with the future of responsible construction.

“By choosing energy-efficient machinery, customers are not only enhancing operational performance but also reducing environmental impact.”
