A joint lecture hosted by the Institute of Physics at Lancaster University will see Professor T Richard Hull – professor of chemistry and fire from the university – talk about the Grenfell Tower disaster from the point of view of the combustibility of the materials used in the building cladding.
He will discuss the history of the regulations that have been developed by government regulators and try to explain how this tragedy occurred from the perspective of a fire scientist.
This is a joint lecture hosted by the CIOB, the Institute of Physics, the Institution of Engineering and Technology, and the Institute of Civil Engineers. It is on 15 March at 6.30pm Lakes College, Lillyhall Business Park, Workington, CA14 4JN.
