Developers Peel and Urban Splash have entered a joint venture to build 347 modular homes in Birkenhead.
The £55m development will sit within the Wirral Waters area, a 500-acre expanse of Birkenhead docklands earmarked for a £4.5bn regeneration.
Urban Splash will offer four different types of home design in the new venture, classified as house, mansion house, villa, and fab house.
All four will be factory-built before being delivered to site.
The company has already delivered its modular concept at sites in Birmingham, Manchester, Salford and North Shields, having acquired SIG Building Systems and its East Midlands modular factory in March last year.

Richard Mawdsley, Peel’s director of development, said: "This development, which follows hot on the heels of our announcement last month about a £90m residential scheme comprising of 500 high-quality homes along Northbank, will transform the site into an internationally-recognised destination with a residential quarter that will take the pressure off local greenbelts and help to tackle the current UK housing crisis.
"We’re now just waiting on the final piece of the jigsaw, securing a Housing Infrastructure Fund grant from Homes England.
"Only then can we finally get the first wave of housing underway at Wirral Waters."
