Photographs of a “Sea of Stairs” inside the Olympic Stadium, a synagogue in Ukraine, and South African shanty town shacks are among the 12 shortlisted images in this year’s Art of Building competition organised by the CIOB.
The annual photographic competition drew a record 3,000 entries from all around the world. This year the shortlisted images will be auctioned to raise money for the disaster relief charity Article 25 for its project to build two hurricane and earthquake resilient schools in Haiti.
The winner will be announced in early September from the results of a public vote.
The auction will be held at a reception in 2013 at the House of Commons. Judges for the competition were CIOB’s deputy chief executive Michael Brown, the broadcaster and writer Maxwell Hutchinson and chair of New London Architecture Peter Murray.
