Industry food hero and MasterChef finalist Paul Bogle, policy and research manager at the National Federation of Builders, has told Construction Manager of his first steps in the professional culinary world.
Bogle, who featured in this year’s final rounds of BBC TV show MasterChef, has launched a series of pop-up feasts at the Little Water restaurant in Covent Garden.
The first appearance for his new company Feast with Paul took place at the end of July, with another Sunday lunchtime event planned for August and further dates also pencilled in for October and November.
At each pop-up event, Bogle creates and cooks a three-course meal, with vegetarian options.
In July he served a chicken ballotine, stuffed with mushrooms and spinach and wrapped in Parma ham – based on the dish he cooked during MasterChef that won him the “dish of the day” award.

Bogle returns to Little Water later this month on 23 August, where the starters will be twice-baked roquefort soufflé with pear curd, or a chicken, leek and mushroom terrine; with pork belly in chilli caramel sauce, or an open mushroom “lasagne” for the main course. Tickets are available priced at £25.
Bogle is now also in demand as a chef for private functions. “Interest has come from several of the industry groups on which I represent the NFB. It is just a question of working out the details as many premises do not have a kitchen!” he said.
Last month, he cooked a three-course lunch for the NFB’s area managers and customer services teams.
Meanwhile, Bogle will be representing the NFB at UK Construction Week in October whene he will be presenting a seminar entitled: “Procurement improvements and opportunities in construction.”
The food prepared by Paul for the NFB Area Managers Meeting was truly amazing – you can see why Paul made it to the Masterchef finals!
