A revised design proposal has been submitted for a 309.6m high, 73-storey skyscraper at 1 Undershaft in the City by Singaporean developer Aroland Holdings, which would be level with the Shard’s tallest steelwork point in London Bridge.
Eric Parry Architects’ design is for a 90,000 sqm office tower block with distinctive visible structural cross bracing that tapers slightly at the top. Its public viewing platform would be higher than the Shard’s.
The height of the tower is the maximum allowable under Civil Aviation Authority rules.
But the project’s unveiling coincides with the latest edition of an annual survey by Aecom, measuring contractors’ capacity and workload for prime commercial offices and residential projects in London.
