A new app has been launched to help contractors record incidents, hazards and near misses at the point they occur.
The app, called Jobsafe and created by Midlands-based software firm Jobmate, allows users to submit reports from a smartphone, either online or offline. Each report is automatically timestamped and geo-tagged, with reports synchronised once a network connection becomes available.

The app has been developed to address delays between incidents occurring and reports being completed to support investigations and compliance.
Managers receive immediate notification of reported incidents and can access information for investigations, compliance reporting and audit purposes.
Jobmate chief executive Wendy Dalton said: “The quality of any investigation depends on the quality of the information collected at the outset. Delays in reporting can mean important details are missed or forgotten.”
The firm said the first 200 organisations to register for the app would receive six months’ free use.
Jobmate also provides enterprise resource planning (ERP) software, which is targeted primarily at SMEs.
