Contractor Morgan Sindall has become the first UK company to sign up to the CIOB’s Minecraft Education lessons.
The training was officially launched to the Minecraft Education community at the Cyberport Minecraft Education Symposium in Hong Kong in July.
In the series of four free lessons, which can be downloaded by teachers anywhere and accessed via the Minecraft Education Platform, students encounter a variety of problems that reflect construction challenges in cities.

The lessons take place in Newtown, a specially created virtual city, in which students can design, plan, and build solutions for a sustainable future for its citizens. Exercises include real-life scenarios such as the challenge of restoring Battersea Power Station.
Morgan Sindall development and training manager Debbie Precious said: “These are easy-to-use lesson plans that are both exciting and interactive. We hope they will capture the imagination of students and inspire them to pursue, or find out more about, a career in our industry.”
She added: “The skills the students will learn in these lessons are aligned with the skills construction needs both now and in the future. We are looking forward to seeing the response to these lessons in our own engagement programmes.”
