More than 70 firefighters attended a blaze involving an under-construction timber-framed building in Southampton yesterday.
Ten fire engines and two aerial ladder platforms attended the incident in Kingsway, St Mary’s in Southampton yesterday afternoon just before 2pm.
The fire, which spread to neighbouring properties, has now been extinguished.
Meanwhile, Hampshire Constabulary is appealing for witnesses after three men were spotted on the roof of the building at around 1230pm, shortly before the fire.
Police said the cause of the fire was unknown and that their investigations are continuing.

“In particular, we’d like to hear from three men who were reported being on the roof of the building at around 12.30pm.
“We had several reports in relation to this and we are issuing an image tonight in the hope that we can identify them.
“If this is you, please call us so that we know that you are ok."
