Offsite manufacturers McAvoy, Merit and Reds10 are among the suppliers appointed to the third iteration of the NHS Shared Business Services Modular Buildings Framework Agreement.
The four-year framework will facilitate the procurement of modular buildings for public sector clients across seven lots spanning standard and customised buildings for healthcare, education and wider public sector clients.
The NHS is using modular buildings to help increase capacity and treat more patients amid growing waiting lists and a lack of clinical space.
NHS Shared Business Services (NHS SBS) was created in 2004 by the Department of Health and Social Care to deliver corporate services to the NHS.
NHS Shared Business Services said the specification for the framework agreement was developed through consultation with the market and MMC experts.
Stephen Clayton, preconstruction director at McAvoy, said: “Being reappointed to the NHS SBS Framework for a third term is a significant achievement for McAvoy.
McAvoy has already delivered projects through the framework over the past eight years.
Clayton added: “We’re proud to continue supporting the UK public sector with innovative modular solutions that prioritise sustainability, quality and speed of delivery. This achievement is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our entire team.”
Kat Jackson, principal category manager at NHS SBS, said: “NHS SBS’s Modular Buildings 3 framework agreement offers an opportunity to fast-track the construction of homes, schools, and NHS facilities, aligning with the government’s commitment outlined in the recent spending review to tackle the housing crisis, modernise healthcare infrastructure and improve education environments.
“Modular construction can transform public sector infrastructure and with the framework agreement’s offer of faster, more affordable solutions, we can ensure critical healthcare, educational and housing projects are delivered on time and to the highest standards.”
