Mace has been appointed to oversee project management of the Government of Jersey’s ‘Our Hospital’ project.
Under the £742,085 contract, Mace will manage all aspects of the delivery, from working with designers and architects to delivery partners and contractors.
The size, shape and location of the hospital have yet to be determined.
The Government of Jersey expects to carried out an assessment of potential sites for the hospital between March and August 2020, before announcing the winner in September 2020. Between October 2020 and March 2021 it will complete a funding plan, before submitting a planning application to the environment minister in March 2021.
Colin Harvey, director for the North at Mace, said: “We are delighted to work with the Government of Jersey in the role of Project Management Office (PMO) for such an important project. We will use our international and healthcare PMO experience to manage the successful delivery of the project and create a world-class new hospital for Jersey.”
Assistant minister for health and community services deputy Hugh Raymond said: “With the Our Hospital project being such a large-scale programme, strategic management of the operation is needed and we are therefore delighted with the appointment of Mace. They have the capacity, capability and the international experience to run this project, while also the desire to work with local partners to deliver this project.
“To have a PMO on board with Mace’s experience and track record is a significant step forward for the Our Hospital Project. The PMO will be the engine room of the operation, driving it forward, and bringing together all of the various components needed to deliver Jersey’s new hospital.”
